Every FUTO Apron ALI is crafted in Mumbai, India, a region famous for textile production and a bustling cultural hub, where you can wander through endless streets lined with colourful markets and shops.
The linen is woven on a machine called air-jet loom, which produces a remarkably consistent quality. Skilled artisans wash the fabric to bring out its natural softness before precisely cutting and sewing it by hand, drawing upon years of experience. Instead of using an automated machine, the embroidery is done with a hand-operated machine that allows each pattern to be determined by the craftsperson.
Because so much of the linen's production is carefully handled by humans, its embroidery varies subtly in shape and thickness, giving every piece its own unique character.
